IMPORTANT: Update on Doping rules
Please take note of the following doping rules updates:
The ISU as well as the SAIDS (Drug Free Sport SA) have taken direction from the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) and confirmed that the new updates will be in effect as of 1 January 2021.
it is important to understand that all athletes are subject to these rules at all times and a contravention of the rules is a serious offence. Further to this, athletes, parents administrators and coaches need to be aware that an offence need not be specifically related to doping. There are areas to consider such as failing to appear for testing, failure to declare change of location etc. that are also punishable.
It is imperative that all athletes and everyone else concerned with the athlete be aware of these updates.
The official documents issued by the organisations above can be found HERE (INFO DESK ->UPDATES) under the heading “IMPORTANT UPDATES ON DOPING REGULATIONS 2021″
Please consider this very important as ignorance of the rules or failure to comply is a serious offense which could have severe consequences for the athlete and the association.
For any queries related to the rule and updates, please contact your provincial committee who can assist you and request further information from the SAFSA Executive.
